What we do at Acconeer

Acconeer is a young and innovative company listed on Nasdaq First North developing a 60 GHz/mmW pulsed coherent radar based on research from Lund University. The Acconeer radar sensor combines extremely low power consumption with sub-mm distance estimation accuracy. It opens for detection of micro-motion, objects’ direction estimation, material classification, human breathing measurement and much more, all within a sensor sized 5x5 mm including antennas.

Acconeer is located in Malmö, next to Masttorget in Västra hamnen. We are currently a group of around 40 people with high R&D focus, working closely together over the R&D disciplines - hardware, software, system and algorithm research and development. We have a large and growing international customer base in the consumer, industrial and automotive segments.

We are looking for a Junior Software Developer with Python skills to join our SW team!

The primary task will be to continue developing our Python-based tools. Our most essential tool is Exploration Tool, hosted on GitHub, which is used by both us and our customers. It is often our customers´ first interaction with our sensor to evaluate and understand our technology and therefore it´s important to present its features in an educative, user-friendly way. On top of visualizing the radar data, it´s also a useful tool for applying machine learning on radar data. Exploration Tool runs on your PC with a GUI based on Qt and communicates with the sensor via UART/socket/USB through our software running on an embedded host.

The software team is responsible for everything from low level microcontroller drivers to an automated python framework that verifies all our changes. We use Git for version control and Jenkins to test and build our reviewed code. We work in an agile manner with continuous integration. The most important and crucial part of how we work is the way we work together as a team. Problems and solutions are discussed together, ideas are welcomed and encouraged. You will both have a chance to excel in things you do very well and try out things you haven´t tried before. And you will always have a team supporting and cheering you on.

We believe that you have a Master of Computer Science and Engineering degree (or similar) and that programming was the favourite part of your education. You don´t need experience of the tools mentioned above. The important thing is that you are eager to learn and want to contribute, both with code and ideas. And of course, that you want to contribute to the positive, friendly atmosphere in the team.
