System Architect to Matthews Marking Systems

This is an opportunity within R&D where you will join our software team. Together with us you will work with high-tech marking and coding solutions for our industrial customers worldwide. We offer you a challenging and varied role with focus on new product development. Join our team!

YOU WILL

As our System Architect you will have a strategic and technical responsibility of our software, focusing on our MPERIA ®Platform that operates as a data platform, printhead controller and code verification system. MPERIA controls e.g. printers, barcode readers, vision systems, scales, and actuators and can be integrated to the customer’s enterprise system. Our technical environment today is Linux (Embedded), Yocto, C++, C, Lua, Python, Jira, Git etc. Development close to the hardware but also application development and working with network protocols etc. In our R&D team we work closely together in between categories with an entrepreneurial mindset. Your main tasks will be:

- software development, focusing on new product development, but also adding new features, maintenance and problem solving.
- architecture and the technical roadmap for our systems.
- the whole product development process, from technical specifications and requirements to end testing.
- coaching more junior colleagues with best practice and supporting the organization with R&D issues.
- contributing with new technology and new ideas in product development.

YOU ARE

You have a technical background and several years of experience from an architect or software engineer role. You should have an academic degree within computer science, electronics or similar. You are experienced in Linux, C++ and C. You enjoy a role where you work with both details and the overall picture. You have good knowledge in English and preferably also Swedish, or you are willing to learn Swedish. Experience with Python, Lua and/or Yocto is meritorious, as well as experience in network communication and agile software development.

We are looking for a self-motivated team player who brings a positive attitude and a co-operative mindset. You have great analytical and strategic skills but also a pragmatic approach. You are flexible and like varied tasks, and also thrive in an entrepreneurial environment.
