Hi, this is Anna and Emil calling! We are the team leader and business manager for the software team in Stockholm. We recently came back to the office after the restrictions and noticed that we have a few free desks available. Coincidentally, we also need some embedded developers, so we are here to solve both those things. Do you want to be challenged in a mix of in-house projects and assignments for our customers? Your future challenge

Our dear customers make a great mix of different industries and products so we can offer you a couple of exciting opportunities depending on your interests and skills. We love the cool projects that really make an impact, but we are also interested in hearing what you want to do with your time. You will, after all, be our ambassador when you are on assignment. We want to be a long term partner for our customers and you will be a big part of that. 

Geography-wise, you will be a part of the Stockholm office (and fika-wise as well) but you will stay in touch with developers in the rest of Sweden. If you face challenges, maybe you will call someone in Malmö for a chat? We also work with mentorships so that you and a colleague can grow together. 

Who you are

We don’t want to tell you who you are, but since this is a job advertisement we thought we might write down some great skills that will come in handy. A learning mindset and a curiosity to try new technology are valued assets. That way, we can keep delivering innovative solutions to our customers. Maybe you are like the Electric Banana Band and love things that move, light up or make a sound? Great, but don't forget to recycle those batteries because sustainability is important to us.

Your technical knowledge is probably an exciting mix of what's usable in small optimized systems as well as larger Linux platforms. You have experience of working within embedded systems and know your way around C and C++. You are probably not a stranger to Python and scripting to automate parts of your work. You may also be one of those adopters of Rust. Hope you think all this sounds fun, because fun is an important word for our team. Note, you don’t have to think that Emils jokes are fun because that man has a geeky sense of humor.

Who are we

We like that we all are different and here at Avalon we mean it when we say that work and spare time should be easily combined. Some are coders, some are designers, but we all love what we do. Some create fun projects in their spare time and share their ideas with their colleagues or invite them to help build stuff. Others are parents focusing on both their children and their project babies. Some are quite new citizens in Sweden and some moved to Stockholm from all parts of our country. What they have in common is that they love technology and dive deep into customer projects. A couple of us like off-piste skiing, some climb rocks. Others love Netflix and some share initials with their hobby, after work. Some like fishing and some like to knit. Some love board games and some compete professionally in their favorite sport. And we all share a passion for what we do and the quality of what we create. So if you are passionate like us, you will have a great time with us at Avalon.'
