Junior Developer

As a junior developer your primary job will be writing code.

You'll implement features, investigate and fix bugs, either reported by customers or internally. Everyone on the team has a say in technical discussions and when making architectural decisions.

We are organized as one team, responsible for all our applications and stack. This means the entire team contributes on most parts. We peer-review all code, and share knowledge within the team. This is a great environment to learn new things and an opportunity to grow.

As a junior developer you will:

• Implement new features, investigate and fix bugs
• Review code
• Help out on escalated customer support issues
• Contribute in technical discussions

The tech

Our stack is centered around C# .Net and hosted on AWS. The majority is on dotnetcore, while we are working on migrating our main application from .Net Framework. Our frontends are in Razor, Knockout and Riot.

We have automated tests and CI/CD pipeline. We work in Github. You can choose between Windows or Mac. We have a QA Engineer on the team. And we work in a pragmatic agile fashion.

You'll come in at a moment where we are replacing some of the technologies in our stack, and will have the chance to influence both decisions and implementations.

You

You are either newly graduated with a technical degree or have a few years of experience working full time as a developer. You are curious and able to research and learn what is needed for the task at hand. You care about doing a good job and evolving. You work well with others, listen and speak your mind.

Experience can compensate for education, but please include links to some of your work (Github-account etc.)

Required:

• A technical degree or proven work experience as a developer
• Experience or interest in the .Net ecosystem
• Ability to work independently, while also being able to ask for help
• Professional fluency in English, both spoken and written

Nice to haves:

• Information Security and Technical Security knowledge or interest
• Experience or interest in AWS
• Working with agile processes
• Fluency in a Nordic language
• Experience working with customers

The team

You’ll join a small to medium sized development team that has ownership of all of Assently’s products. We work by agile/DevOps practices, write primarily in C# and have a full CI/CD pipeline deploying to AWS. There’s a short path between user feedback and new features or fixes. We are midway in our move to cloud-native microservice architecture, so there is a lot to learn and interesting work to be done.
