​Director of Technology

We also happen to be really awesome. To continue the company’s success story, we’re now looking for a Director of Technology to join us, on site in Stockholm.

About the role

A Director of Technology at Quickspin plays a pivotal role in the Architectural team and forum. You will be instrumental in the how the architecture team is formed, how it works, and how we will attack future and current technical challenges in an everchanging industry. Working closely with our Architect and DevOps Engineer in the team, you will help them drive the Architectural forum across the company, identify and reduce the technical debt, as well as provide solutions and strategies for both technology and business plans. All in all, the teams’ tasks range from high-level tech strategies to hands on development, supporting both the Game Studio and Platform team. You will be part of the Operational leadership team, and report directly to the COO. Your closest colleagues and collaborators, beyond your own team, be the managers of the different departments and all engineering teams at Quickspin. What we are looking for is an experienced strategic individual that can lead both the company and technical teams by:

• Be the driving force behind a strong technical direction that matches and influences our business strategy. Show how technology can enable both short term gains but also long-term opportunities.
• Be the management focal point for any technical matters related to different business initiatives.
• Be an instrumental part of the decision-making process in any key technical discussions.
• Be a point of reference for Regulation requirements and their impact on our systems
• Guiding teams by assisting in defining development processes, standards, and guidelines.
• Set new standards in how technology is used and can enable other teams in the organization.
• Responsible for NFRs (Non-Functional Requirements) across all tech teams.
• Collaborating with 3rd party vendors to support our technical operations
• Lead by example with teams and participate in important technical conversations
• Liaise with Playtech on technical matters of common interest

Qualifications and experience

• iGaming background or from a similar industry
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Proven leadership qualities & business acumen.
• Extensive work experience with software development, preferably front-end or full stack
• Previous experience of working with technical architecture
• Good understanding of JavaScript, version control, build systems and development tools such as Node.js, NPM, Docker, Maven etc, Jenkins and/or other automation servers/services.
• A hands-on mindset

We also value

• Experience in defining driving a Cloud strategy (Hybrid Approach), also evaluating 3rd party products to extend our in-house technical capabilities.
• Experience with AWS services and e2e testing tools such as Selenium, webdriver.io etc.
• Having a good understanding of information security (ISO 27001) requirements.
