Within Ericsson Research, Research Area Artificial Intelligence (AI) is responsible for pushing the AI frontiers within telecom, combining machine learning, reasoning methods, and trustworthy AI tools, and techniques to drive intelligent autonomous operations in large complex telecom systems.

The available two Researcher positions will strengthen our research on AI and trustworthy AI for telecom networks, e.g., future 6G. Sounds appealing?

This role will report to the Research Manager, Trustworthy AI.

You will

• Join our experienced team working with groundbreaking AI algorithms

• Be part of investigating and evaluating Trustworthy AI concepts for future telecom systems

• Participate in the continuous development and improvement within the fast-evolving area of AI and telecom.

• Understand the interaction between the latest telecom network systems to ensure efficient and explainable performance

• Work with algorithm design, model development, simulations, concept design

• Use simulation tools for evaluating new cutting-edge idea and then applying in the networks

• Cooperate with internal and external partners

• Extend the current state of the art with thought leadership (including research articles, IPR, etc.)

To be successful in the role you must have

• PhD or M.Sc. degree in computer science, machine learning or similar or equivalent experience within the industry

• Demonstrated experience in machine learning, explainable AI, and/or wireless communications

• Strong background in at least one of machine learning, reinforcement learning, explainable AI algorithms (SHAP, LIME, etc.), explainable RL, deep neural networks, time series analysis and/or Bayesian networks

• Practical implementation/programming skills, for example, in Python

• Thirst for knowledge and the ability to practically apply it

• Passion to develop and drive new ways of working, to produce research results in efficient ways

• Good communication skills and ability to build networks

• Proficiency in English, both written and spoken

We also favor that you

• Demonstrate ability to develop novel and innovative ideas, generate patents, publish results at conferences and in journals

• Have experience with Keras, Tensorflow, PyTorch, Spark, Pandas, Scikit and/or Git

• Possess good knowledge in simulation and evaluation tool methodology
