The Team 
At the department of Core System Software we are building a high-performance computer-in-the-car architecture designed to host software-driven functions and features in our next generation pure electric and self-driving Volvo models. In other words, instead of multiple electronic control units around the car to control individual features and systems, Volvo Cars next generation cars will have a centralized computing with a core system that serve as a platform for our stakeholders and partners to deploy applications on.
Our multi-core architecture includes high-performance (HP) systems on a chip (SoC), providing a framework for current and future services. We are now looking for an experienced C++ software engineer with a genuine interest in diagnostic communication architecture to strengthen our software development organization.
What you´ll do?
As a software developer and architect you will be an empowered member in a committed cross-functional team that, next to other similar teams, develops our software platform. The team develop the diagnostic communication stack including DoIP gateway, CAN gateway, ODB/UDS services, diagnostic firewall and interfaces to customer application diagnostics
The team consist of a mix of software engineers with a combined team capability that includes architecture, systemization, requirement management as well as software and test development. The team’s work is carried out by using agile methodology in combination with a SAFe Framework.

Who are you?
We believe that you are a highly skilled software engineer with several years of experience from working with C++ development. You are genuine problem solver with a positive and solution-oriented mind-set. You are known to be a team player and always strive to contribute to the team’s commitments. You are curious, have a great ability to learn. You embrace the agile principles, and you have a continuous improvement mind-set.
We would like that you have experience of software development, working with real-time, fault tolerant, safe and secure application frameworks. Fluency in spoken and written English is required.
Key competences for the position:

-    Real-time system (QNX is a plus)
-    Linux environment
-    Software architecture
-    Test development
-    Requirement breakdown (System/Car Weaver is a plus)
