Frontend Developer to Fitness24seven

We at Fitness24seven are now looking for our next star to take on the role as a Frontend Developer!

Purpose of the role

The purpose of this role is to make custom user interfaces for digital systems and services of Fitness24Seven organization and related companies. These systems are in relation, but not exclusive to the Digital Platform. The frontend developer is responsible for developing and maintaining these user interfaces with high quality, following web standards and best practices.

Main duties

Qualified candidates will be expected to have a working knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript. Your duties will include turning wireframes and mock-ups into reusable code and building high-quality UI components with scalability in mind. You will also be responsible for implementing new features to our websites based on Umbraco CMS, handling integrations, performing routine maintenance and performance optimizations.

- Commerce / My Pages Existing Markets
- Mobile App (iOS/Android)

The frontend developer will also work with systems that are not related to the digital platform, where Fitness24Seven has developed the code.

The Team

You will be a part of a cross-functional team, communicating with other departments on a regular basis, particularly with the Marketing Department and Customer Support. You will work closely with another frontend developer who is responsible for the applications’ UX/UI. You are thus expected to take on more engineering-focused tasks. Development responsibilities

In development of new functionality the frontend developer is responsible to:

- Implement the solution design
- Challenge and advice how a feature is best designed to fit the current application
- Validate that the interface code is developed according to current design patterns and best practices
- Validate that the interface code is developed according to web standards
- Collaborate with interface designers, developers, architects and business departments in order to produce the most fitting solution within set constraints

Maintenance Responsibilities

In addition to new development, the frontend developer is also responsible for maintenance of our current user interfaces. This means to:

- Identify and fix bugs as they are reported
- Refactor and rewrite complex code in order to increase maintainability
- Take ownership of all front-end code developed by Fitness24SevenWork together with the solution architect to setup development practices and processes for frontend development
- Work together with the solution architect to set priorities where to focus our maintenance attention
- Advice the business on how we can make our interface applications provide a better service for Fitness24Seven's members

Qualifications

- Academic degree or equivalent experience in Software Engineering
- Proficient experience in HTML, CSS (including SCSS) and JavaScript (including testing with Jest)
- Experience in web standards, WCAG and SEO optimization
- Umbraco CMS experience is meritorious
- C# experience is meritorious
