About Objektia

Objektia is a B2B marketplace, aimed towards commercial real estate and office space. We are in this to transform an industry, which has previously been non-transparent and largely non-digitalised. Commercial real estate is everywhere. It is what makes up our cities and skylines, we want to make that digital, and that’s what we’re so excited about. Our customers are professionals and we believe that business software should be just as beautiful and as easy to use as its consumer counterpart. The bulk of Sweden’s largest real estate companies are customers of Objektia to whom we provide our services in Stockholm and Linköping, with plans to expand to the rest of Sweden in the near future. We’re a team of five and our office is located at Kungstensgatan in central Stockholm.

Job description

As the first dedicated front end developer you will have the overall responsibility of the front end part of our code. We’re currently running on jQuery and Jinja2 but with a set goal to move over to a more modern front end framework such as Angular, Ember.js or React. You will be highly involved in this transition and your skills and experience will play a big part in the decision. You’ll basically have a carte blanche to build your very own front end code-palace with the support from our lead developer and the rest of the team.

A large part of our users are mobile, and we always think of ways to make the mobile experience as unique and user friendly as possible. You’ll continue to develop our mobile experience and make sure that our service is truly device-agnostic.

We work with one week sprints and continuously push out live code. In our workflow we use modern web based planning and communication tools such as Slack, Waffle.io, and Github. Being a small organisation, we’re all part of the same team. Decisions are made fast and everyone’s opinion is highly valued. We take great consideration in weighing the different perspectives from our entire team to build a product which is optimized from a technical and business perspective. We are humble, and always willing to question and revise the platforms and services we have been working with so far. It’s a full time job and you’ll be located at our Stockholm office.

Skills and Requirements

What we’re looking for:

You’re highly passionate about programming with a proven track record of writing beautiful maintainable code. You allways strive to follow best practises and document your code. Working in a small organisation suits you, where you enjoy managing your own projects as well as being a part of creating the workflows that are adapted to you and the rest of the organisation.  You find the opportunity to build something new and being creative in your work exciting.

Skills

• You consider CSS, HTML5 and JavaScript as second nature.
• You have worked on projects with proven results in creating device-agnostic and responsive web services.
• You highly value the quality of the products you develop and the code base of that product
• You deeply care about performance, debugging and benchmarking
• You keep up to date with trends within the web development community such as ES6, responsive images and Web Components,
• You have an analytical mindset and love problem solving
• You have experience of working with CSS preprocessors
• You understand the importance of testing and value a solid, well maintained and tested code base.
• You have strong written and spoken English
