The Axis Body Worn Solution is a complete solution for managing thousands of Body Worn cameras. It includes mobile applications and a growing number of cloud-based services. We are looking for a UX designer which will work closely together with the product owner, architects, SW developer and the customer to learn the users need and translate that into UI designs. Together with your colleagues you will encounter challenges like combining high security requirements or system complexity with the importance of usability.
Body Worn Cameras is a new product family in the Axis portfolio, a field under rapid development and with heavy end user interaction. In other words, a great place for a UX/UI designer to make a difference.
Who is your future team?
You will join a very skilled and technically strong team that values individual growth and teamwork. The team consist of 25 engineers with a great mix of engineers from early in the career to persons with 20+ years of professional experience.
Our team is responsible for design and development of the complete body worn solution (SW). This includes the body worn cameras and its control units, our cloud services, and mobile applications. Included is also front-end, both for the control units and our cloud services. We work in agile, independent, and empowered functional teams, each functional team consisting of 4-7 developers.
We have a constant will to develop and to create tomorrow's solutions and we do that in close dialogue with existing customers and with customer pilots of upcoming technologies in authentic installations.
What you'll do here
As UX/UI designer you will work with the complete body worn solution, with emphasis on system level UX design, the front-end and mobile apps UI design. You will interact and bridge between many parts of our team as well as external teams.
The responsibilities of the role include:
* Working closely with our Solution Architect, SW Architects and Product Owner creating the high-level user experience design
* Working closely with Front End developers to determine the best controls and inputs to support UI features for consistent user experience
* Creating prototypes of UI features to ensure a high-quality user flow in our products
* Communicating designs for implementation on a technical level
* Customer interviews, especially before and during pilots
Who are we looking for/Who are you?
We are looking for a committed designer who wants to work in a cross-functional team to create solutions that make things easier and better for our end users.
We would love to hear that you have/are:
* 5+ years of practical UX/UI design experience in technical web-related projects
* Proven skill set in designing effective wireframes and interactions, user flows and prototypes
* Solid understanding of interaction/graphic design fundamentals
* Well versed in articulating, rationalizing, and emphasizing the end-users needs
* An adaptable and quick learner - Whether it is a new prototyping tool, or design process
