As our quest to democratise financial services continues at blazing speed, Risk Engineering is now looking for an inspiring Backend Engineer with a great deal of experience in Agile environments.

Simply stated, our core mission is all about ensuring that Zettle’s customers data is screened and verified, both at the onboarding stage and continuously during their time with us. Our team is passionate about enabling small businesses get easy access to our products while guaranteeing that we stay compliant and secure.

A glimpse of how you will make an impact here

You would be part of an autonomous and highly skilled team working with a wide range of technologies. Here everyone is a Developer, a Tester, a DevOps Engineer and a DBA. This means we have plenty of opportunity for learning.

In a nutshell, as part of Risk Engineering you will notably:

  • Make a difference, what we solve for is crucial for enabling customers to use Zettle.
  • Develop, deploy and monitor services using the latest Java and Dropwizard/Spring Boot.
  • Work closely with stakeholders and take part in defining requirements.
  • Setup and maintain infrastructure in AWS using Terraform.
  • Develop your skills together with others in the team, e.g. in our team book club or watching tech talks. Zettle sets aside time where you can work on learning and innovation.

The skills to succeed

While we will be here to support you, we believe you have:

  • Experience in developing complex, distributed systems.
  • Familiarity with working with infrastructure, preferably using one of the major public cloud providers.
  • An appetite for following good engineering practices, such as automated testing and continuous delivery.
  • Good communication skills, with your peers as well as with stakeholders.
  • A team player, you like to pair and mob program and believe the best solution is achieved when working closely together.
  • A desire to work with innovation and experimentation, and like to take initiatives.
  • Experience working full stack is regarded as a bonus.
