As our quest to democratise financial services continues at blazing speed, Zettle's Platforms Alliance is now looking for an inspired and creative Android Developer with a good deal of experience to join our Design System Team.

In this role, you will be part of a truly Agile and innovative team co-tackling a wide variety of challenges together with a group of talented people driven by a shared ambition to create hassle-free solutions for our sellers.

A glimpse of what you will get here

The core mission of the Design System Team consists in building and maintaining a design system and visual language that provides consistency, speed, collaboration, quality and delight for other teams within Zettle.

Our design system is under constant development and already includes many design tokens, components and guidelines to help designers, developers and copywriters to build a world-class user experience for the Zettle mobile applications and the Web-based back-office system.

Last but not least, while doing improvements on Zettle’s own design system, our team is also involved in high-level architectural discussions regarding upcoming unification with other services and corresponding design systems within PayPal.

A glimpse of what you will be doing

In this role, you will have the opportunity to impact the future development and adoption of the design system for Android. In practice, this means that you will work closely with various experts ranging from Designers to Android Developers within and outside the team. Our ambition? In short, it's all about making it easy for all to use the design system when adding features to the Zettle App.

In this spirit, should you accept it your mission will be to:

• Be part of the planning and evolution of our design system by working closely with your colleagues inside as well as outside the team;
• Design, implement and maintain design system features together with the team;
• Ensure a high level of quality, usability and maintainability of the design system tokens and components;
• Help improving our documentation and build tools to ensure a great developer experience for all mobile and web developers within Zettle;
• Experiment / learn about the latest tools, technology and processes.

The skills to succeed

• Experience of modern app development for Android.
• Experience of Kotlin and Android Studio.
• Some knowledge about how to build and maintain UI libraries.
• Great communication and collaboration skills combined with a solid experience working in a diverse and agile environment.
