System Administrator (Linux)

Are you interested in setting up, supporting and improving Linux based IT environments that runs services for airline operations worldwide?

AVTECH is a company, with a creative and casual work environment, developing digital services for aviation. We are currently looking for a talented and service minded system administrator to help set up, configure, support and develop our suite of Linux based aviation software services.

The ideal candidate for this role is service minded, works in a structured way and has an interest in delivering quality. He or she has a background and genuine interest in setting up, maintaining and deploying services in Linux environments. Experience from scripting and development in Python language as well as containerization using docker is an advantage.

Candidates should enjoy working in a team and be able to solve tasks under their own direction and initiative. Good communication skills in English are required and skills in Swedish will be meritable.

Basic Requirements

• Degree in Linux system administration or equivalent technical background
• Good knowledge about Debian/Ubuntu Linux distributions from an administrator point of view
• Virtual Machines setup and administration
• Knowledge in bash/Python scripting
• Database administration (MongoDB, Postgres)
• Ability to work in a team and to solve tasks in a structured way under your own direction and initiative
• Network router and firewall configurations
• English speaking and writing skills
• Interest in the aviation industry

Valuable Skills and Experience

• Distributed computing, Queue systems (MQ) and Web Services
• Git version control system
• Containerization with Docker or similar
• Swedish speaking and writing skills
