Head of Data

Job overview:

Estrid has grown significantly over the last 24 months, operating in 13 countries and shipping hundreds of thousands of orders per month.

Empowering our teams with a high-quality data and analytics platform is essential to our daily and continued success and we’re now looking for a strong leader to join us as Head of Data & Analytics.

In this role, your responsibilities will span across Data Engineering, science, and Product Analytics, where you will define and execute our Data strategy.

Our current data platform handles 10s of millions of events every month, so the solutions we build, and insights we draw, impact the entire Estrid team and ultimately our customers and the growth of our business.

As a Head of Data & Analytics you will:

• Lead and build out the team to eventually consist of analysts and scientists, working across the entire Estrid organization and all associated brands.
• Define and execute our overall Data strategy to make sure Estrid remains at the forefront of data-driven practices throughout the entire organization and continuously raise the company bar through insights
• Develop a cohesive vision for how data should be used at Estrid, and ensure it stays part of our overall organization goals
• Build relationships and expertise in functional teams across the company to develop and execute on the data roadmap
• Evangelize for the use of data to drive the business and as a key strategic asset in every department at Estrid
• Lead strategic projects when required, to ensure data quality, integrity, and compliance at all times
• Build relationships and expertise in functional teams across the company to develop and execute on the data roadmap
• Along with the tech team, lead strategy, architecture and the development of data, experimentation and analytics solutions
• Establish consistent methodologies for analysis by mentoring and coaching both direct reports and the broader team at Estrid
• Lead discussion at all levels of the company to ensure that results are well-interpreted and put into practice
• Own the budget and prioritization for data and analytics tools, whether built internally or bought from external vendors
• Recruit, develop, manage and inspire our growing team of data analysts & data scientists

Your profile:

• 5+ years experience as Data Analyst/Scientist/Engineer or similar role
• 2+ years in a manager position
• Background in Computer Science, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics or related, technical field, or equivalent work experience
• Strategic experience leading and building data teams in high growth companies; preference for e-commerce experience
• A good understanding of GCP Data platforms
• A skilled collaborator in cross-functional teams who excels at navigating fast growing and flexible scaleup environments
• Passion for startups and emerging technologies
• Eagerness to apply data solutions to novel disciplines and a passion for working cross-functionally with teams of varying technical ability.
• Ability to leverage past, relevant success to immediately drive value for our team, our customers and our business
• Motivated by working in a high-growth, fast-paced and iterative environment.
• At ease with large and complicated data sets, across multiple functional areas or channels
• Familiarity with modern data science practices from econometrics to machine learning, including reasonable exposure or experience with statistical computing in R or Python

We’re a driven, and ambitious team with a personal and colourful office space in central Stockholm. We have lots of great-to-have work-related stuff but also snacks, neon signs, comfy couches, and big terraces, we think you'll like it! We’re now around 50 full-time employees, which of whom 1/ 5 have international backgrounds so our corporate language is English.
