Load and Performance Engineer

Here at Derivco Sports, we build a highly available sports betting application that is live across a number of markets, running multiple concurrent events at any given time. Performance is key and so we’re growing our pivotal Load & Performance Engineering team.

As a team, you will collaborate across our studios with development, product, and operations teams. Key responsibilities will include:

• Elicit and understand non-functional requirements and Service Level Objectives including Performance, Availability, Capacity and Stability
• Maintain production-like, reliable test environments using continuous monitoring practices
• Maintain continuous and accurate load on the test environments
• Design, plan and implement the above to validate NFRs/SLOs
• Report findings to key stakeholders and manage issues to facilitate resolution

What you need to succeed:

• Substantial software testing experience to include proven experience in Load & Performance testing
• ISEB Intermediate or equivalent
• Knowledge of industry performance standards, performance bottlenecks and web performance measures
• Load testing experience with Gatling, Loadrunner Cloud, or JMeter
• Programming/scripting experience (Scala, Bash, Ruby, C, Git)
• Hands-on experience with troubleshooting Load & Performance issues and providing root cause analysis
• Previous experience with any of the following monitoring/alerting technologies: Grafana, Splunk, Azure AppInsights, Nagios, ELK
• Practical knowledge of cloud and on-premise systems, architecture, and networking
• Database knowledge to include SQL, Postgres, NoSQL
• Knowledge of Requirements Engineering or Business Analysis
