What you will do

As a Risk Investigator, you are expected to deeply immerse yourself into topics and areas where we have identified increased risk across the organisation. The objective is to establish the root cause and most importantly recommendations to avoid reoccurrence to ensure that the business acts within the set risk appetite set by the board and CEO.

Your accountability line will be within the 2:nd line of defense led by Klarnas CRO and your competence line will belong to the Analytic competence.

Since Klarna is a data-driven company, decisions are based on facts and not opinions, which suits this role very well. The analytics competencies are integrated within the organisation and a key function in many different areas - some examples of the other are; finance, fraud, HR, product development, and sales. Even if Analytics is applied in many different areas there are some things that all analysts have in common: a strong drive combined with analytical skills and a great team spirit! As your career develops you will develop expertise in certain areas.

The opportunity: Senior Risk Manager

• Drive the continuous improvement of Klarna’s risk management processes and integrate it to Klarna’s operating model that is designed to enable high speed, flow, and quality
• Support and guide the business in strategic business decisions from a risk perspective
• Perform analysis to establish areas of concern across our key enterprise risks
• Lead and perform investigations or "deep dives" into key risk events/areas of concern to provide the organization with insight and guidance to ensure financial accuracy, adherence to governance, internal risk control, and regulatory compliance
• Examine and recommend improvement areas for operating practices and financial and risk management processes of the organisation to ensure we are operating within risk appetite
• Audit and follow up on adherence and progress of the risk management processes and recommendations accepted within the business units

You should have

• A degree from a university in a numerate subject (e.g. Economics, Science, Engineering, or Business)
• Applicable work experience in a risk management function or consulting/audit environment of +5 years
• Working proficiency and communication skills in verbal and written English
• Strong attention to detail and experience in using structured approaches to problem-solving
• Strong analytical thinking abilities and a problem-solving mindset
• Significant drive and ambition
• Strong conceptual ability

• Preferably an understanding of how to perform data extraction and manipulation, as well as programming languages is a plus (SQL, R, Python, MatLab, Java, C#, etc…)

• Experience with presenting/reporting complex data in a simple way
