We currently have a vacancy for a Test management System Development Engineer within our Testing and Laboratory facility and are looking for a new team member. Together we make sure that Penta has the tools and system required to develop and test the products needed for tomorrow (be it electrical, diesel or hybrid). As a Systems Development Engineer you will:

Work as part of a team, developing and maintaining inhouse software tools for engine testing and the resulting data. Actively support daily operations and sub-system maintenance to ensure quality and uptime of testing activities. Support and network with contacts both internally and externally. You will bring energy to the development of new solutions for our testing facility.

You have a positive outlook combined with persistence, flexibility and thoroughness. You are service-minded, a team player and are good at communicating and work together with colleagues with many different backgrounds and at different technical levels.

At Volvo Penta we believe in the concept ‘hire for attitude and learn for skills’, but certainly some prior knowledge will make it easier.

The following would be excellent:

• Knowledge of system development and maintenance
• Knowledge of C# and OOP
• SQL database experience (such as Oracle or SQL Server)

The following would be fantastic too:

• MS Visual Studio
• WPF
• Git
• Python
• Unit tests, continuous integration and automated test
• Visual Basic (VB), Excel VBA, ASP.NET, MATLAB, Vision
• Windows Server configuration / fault analysis / Hardware

Engine Testing Development (ETD) is an energized group within Product Solutions Development and responsible to secure that Test management, Virtual testing environment, test equipment, testing interface and test benches for heavy duty Industrial and Marine product applications, are optimised.
