UX Director

About the role
As a UX Director, you will have a key role in one of the two main product domains (Core Experience or Growth) and carry overall responsibility for the user experience of our product. You will spearhead exploration, set the strategy for user experience and see it through all the way to product delivery. Working closely with product and tech leadership, you will shape the future of our product and help create a world-class audio experience.

Job responsibilities

- Be part of the product leadership of the domain, jointly taking responsibility for product direction.
- Lead and oversee the design process across the entire product lifecycle from product discovery to implementation.
- Translate customer, business needs, and specific platform demands into premium experiences that deliver on business objectives, in collaboration with designers in product teams.
- Facilitate workshops and align multiple stakeholders.
- Collaborate closely with your product and tech counterparts to shape a data-informed vision for the user experience.
- Create design concepts and prototypes for multiple opportunities and solutions.
- Align team designers around the product vision and support them in its implementation.
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality UI that follows our branding and tone of voice.
- Effectively collaborate with other domain functions and stakeholders.
- Coach designers and support them in professional growth.
- Manage a team of product designers in the domain.

About the Team
You will be part of a multidisciplinary design team of over 20 people, consisting of product designers, service designers, design ops, and a UX writer. Our mission is to create a world-class audio experience and to achieve this, we have developed a culture of collaboration, design critique, and knowledge sharing taking place in different design forums that everyone is welcome to contribute to. You will be a mentor and manager of product designers in your domain and report to the Head of Product design.

About you:

- A minimum of 8 years of experience designing and shipping world-class digital products on mobile platforms, preferably at a consumer product company.
- +3 years of experience leading design work and mentoring a team of designers.
- Have a strong portfolio of products you successfully shipped, as well as products your team has developed
- Documented knowledge and experience in design strategy, UX, and UI
- The ability to see the big picture while having an eye for the smallest details, such as micro-interactions and color contrasts.
- Proficiency in Figma and other relevant design tools.
- Excellent English language and communication skills.

For some bonus points, you have experience from working with accessibility, inclusive design, and design systems.
