Job Description:

You will be responsible for turning data into insights using machine learning techniques, as well as designing and building tools to automate analysis processes. You will be applying an agile mind-set to understand, predict and bring our clients data to life using modern visualization techniques. You are concerned with building quantitative models out of data, setting and verifying the assumptions for the models, model validation and maintenance, and choosing data collection strategies and instruments. You should understand when the underlying assumptions for a model are no longer valid, and clearly communicate to stakeholders what those assumptions are.

Skills requirements:

• MSc/PhD in statistics, engineering, computer science, applied mathematics, other relevant field, or proven experience achieved by other means.
• 4+ years relevant experience.
• Strong math background and a good understanding of appropriate statistical techniques.
• Advanced programming skills in Python and data analysis packages such as NumPy, SciPy, pandas, or their equivalent in other languages.
• Strong visualisation, presentation, and communication skills.
• Basic understanding of data warehousing concepts and decent SQL/MongoDB knowledge

Meritorious:

• Experience with machine learning and data mining tools and algorithms.
• Knowledge about numerical methods and scientific computing.
• Experience building and designing data analysis pipelines.
• Experience with cloud platforms.
• Exposure to different data types such as time series of various kinds, categorical data, etc.

Personal characteristics:

• Ability to work with unfamiliar data and think about ways to tackle problems with different datasets.
• You are willing to find answers on your own.
• Leadership skills showing that you are able to collaborate with people to figure out what the right problem to solve is and need to be able to chase that down on your own.
