WHAT UTOPIANS DO

The open secret is that the music industry is struggling with the very basics of music accounting: What was played, when and where? Who should get paid and how much?

Utopia Music is bridging the data gap by connecting global consumption, accurate metadata, and fast payments to an industry-wide trust platform. Our goal is to unlock creative value and enable Fair Pay For Every Play to make a better world for Music. The solutions we offer do not threaten to usurp the role of industry incumbents - it is about bringing transparency in the industry and supporting efficient royalty collection for all.

THE ROLE

As a Senior MLOps Engineer, you are part of the Engineering organization in the Infra team responsible for MLOps. In this role, you develop tools and automate systems to build, train, evaluate, deploy, and monitor ML models. Your role will facilitate the work of teams using ML inside the company, which can leverage the infrastructure you contribute building to produce ML-powered applications.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Implement MLOps frameworks to support team-specific models, with specific focus on:

- Model / data version control
- Data preprocessing
- Model / experiment tracking
- Model training + evaluation
- Hyper-parameter optimisation
- Model deployment into production
- Model and drift monitoring
- Develop high-level functional DL library to streamline data scientists’ experiments
- Create and manage DAGs to carry out chains of tasks.
- Build REST APIs as part of the MLOps infrastructure.
- Liaise with ML stakeholders in the company to understand infrastructure needs and use cases.
- Research new technologies, automation tools and systems to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Documentation of infrastructure tools and services.

REQUIREMENTS

- >3 years Python experience working in a data- / ML-centred position
- Clean code, agile, TDD advocate
- Built (audio) ML / data pipelines
- Experience with MLOps tasks in production (e.g., model/experiment tracking, model monitoring, model deployment)
- Experience with MLOps tools and platforms (e.g., TensorFlow Extended, MLFlow, Optuna, DVC)
- Used ETL tools for data / ML processing (e.g., Airflow, Luigi)
- Git + data versioning (e.g., DVC)
- Experience in building and deploying machine learning models - ML models for audio / music processing is a big plus
- Familiar with ML libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch)
- Experience working with major cloud providers, especially Google Cloud Platform or Amazon Web Services
- Basic knowledge of DevOps (e.g., Terraform, CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes)
- Knowledge of database technologies (e.g., MongoDB, PostgreSQL)
- Experience with audio signal processing is a plus
- Good communication skills
- Fluency in English
