It all started out of frustration in the queue of the local Western Union agent. The queue was long, the fees were high and the flexibility was non-existent. A group of friends lamented. Some people lament over problems; others try to find solutions. The friends saw an opportunity, and soon thereafter Transfer Galaxy was born.

We are still a company full of problem solvers, using technology to make remittances fast, easy, and safe. Our customers use Transfer Galaxy to send money to their loved ones across the world in seconds. Straight to a mobile wallet. From Stockholm to Mogadishu, London to Accra, Berlin to Beirut.

We’re looking for an experienced product designer to join our team and help define the direction of our product as we scale. You’ll be joining us at an exciting time as we add new markets and expand the services we offer. Over the next year, our design priorities include developing our design system, strengthening localisation, and launching experiments to support growth.

You’ll be part of a cross-functional product team comprised of product managers, product designers, content designers, and several engineers. You’ll tackle inconsistencies across our platforms (iOS, Android, web) and make data-informed decisions that strengthen the usability of our product. You’ll help define what our products and services will look and behave like, working alongside stakeholders as varied as legal, marketing, and community managers. You’ll join us in taking on hard customer problems and defining strategy.

Experience and skills

- Minimum 5 years designing product experiences, preferably with a focus on mobile-first design;

- Strong user-centred approach and demonstrated understanding of UX design and product discovery principles, tools, and methodologies;

- Experience developing and contributing to a product design system;

- Interest (or even better, experience) in inclusive design practices and why they’re important;

- Great collaboration skills, desire to work in empowered cross-functional teams;

- Excellent English oral and written skills, additional languages are always an asset;

- Strong familiarity with Figma or similar tools.

Bonus points:

- Experience in designing for localisation, especially non-Latin and RTL writing systems.

About you

- You enjoy being part of a cross-functional team and working with different parts of the business;

- You champion an inclusive, user-centred approach to design while having a strong grasp of business needs and priorities;

- You ask strategic questions to make sure your work solves the right problems and gets the right results;

- You work well in a multilingual, multicultural environment and are energised by talking to people and learning about other perspectives;

- You’re deeply curious and love to share questions and knowledge with those around you.

When you apply

- In your application, include work samples (or a portfolio) and a resume (or link to a LinkedIn profile);

- We value diversity of life and work experiences. We’re a bunch of folks from all over the place. English is our main language of communication though much work happens in Somali, Swedish, or Urdu, to name just a few. Many of us don’t come from traditional design or tech backgrounds. While this is not an entry-level role, we’re always open to candidates who can show comparable experience. Get in touch with us at [email protected]

- Remote work is possible or you can work from one of our offices in Stockholm, Örebro, or Frankfurt.
