OM TJÄNSTEN
Currently, Excillum offer the MetalJet source, based on the company-founding metal-jet-anode technology, and the NanoTube source powered by their refined e-beam technology. The metal-jet technology was invented by the company´s founders in 1999 and today, they offer a growing range of the MetalJet and NanoTube X-ray sources based on the key technologies to customers all over the world. Since the start, Excillum has grown to be currently around 70 coworkers in Stockholm and are all working on the same mission: to enable new science, improve medicine, and enhance manufacturing by continuous development of state-of-the-art X-ray sources. They have hired several employees during both 2020 and 2021 and as the expansion continues, they look to grow the Software Engineering team. Currently there are four other Software Engineers, working cross functionally and collaborating with electrical and mechanical engineers as well as compliance engineers, researchers, production, support and sales. Excillum are headquartered in Kista, where they have R&D, engineering, lab, and production all in house.

Hello! My name is Gustav and I’m the software engineering manager at Excillum. I started my journey with Excillum 5 years ago as a software engineer and have leant a lot by working with the incredibly skilled team here. ARBETSUPPGIFTER
You will work in a broad role and be involved in development and maintenance of Excillum´s X-ray systems’ software. A software using mostly C ++and Python in a Linux environment and you will get the chance to work with a large spectrum of software assignments. Excillum's products are used both in the research area and industry, and right now they are investing in both entering new markets and with new products in the coming years. Great focus and resources are invested in the software and you as a software engineer will play an important role in the improvement of existing products as well as development of new products. Your team's tasks are, among other things, to work on finding an as good "X-ray spot" as possible, the right size and directed in the right direction to ensure that you measure the right things. In future products, this may, for example, involve x-raying car batteries to ensure that there is no short circuit in order to avoid accidents in traffic.

You will for example…

* Work on developing user-friendliness, interface and error handling in the software
* Develop and implement algorithms to enhance x-ray performance
* Design and implement SW infrastructure
* Work closely with Excillum's customers to understand their needs and be able to integrate with their systems more easily
* Work with testing and CI/CD
* Develop and support the GUI/HMI of the sources
* Debugging
* Support when there´s questions from for example production, support and sales
* Contribute to workflow and process improvements++
