About the position
Engineering at Holm Security is one of the largest departments where we build and deliver a SaaS and on-premise product to our customers globally. As an Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for a group of engineers that work in various teams. Our teams are structured to focus on an area of the product which they are responsible to drive and deliver.
We are in the middle of a scale-up phase where engineering has grown from 6 to 30 people in the last 3 years and continues to grow every month. You as an Engineer Manager should know what it takes to keep customers happy, adopt processes and make necessary changes to continue support continuous growth with an entrepreneurial mindset.
Your daily activities will include:
- Be responsible for the overall product quality and delivery.
- Work closely with product management to ensure we're building products in the best way.
- Optimize team efficiency and scalability.
- Engage team and make everyone move in the same direction towards the same goal.
- Juggle priorities and provide leadership in an innovative and fast-paced environment.
- Be data-driven and always seek new ways of knowing and improving your services.
- Take a lead on key initiatives and large technical projects.
- Coach and mentor onsite and remote engineers making them grow.
- Actively support recruitment and onboarding of new employees.
- Hands-on activities such as code reviews and architecture planning.
To be successful in this role you should have experience with:
- 7+ years of developer work experience (ideally with Python as that is our primary language), at least 2 of those as a manager
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
- You have hired and led high-performance engineering teams.
- Have made a major movement or led a change initiative, for example taking a project or team from A to B.
- You have solid experience from working in an agile development environment.
- Fluent in English
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills along with outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
