Next Position are now recruting a Developer Infastructure engineer to Collegial, an EdTech company based in Stockholm.

As a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer at Collegial, you will take the lead on evolving the operation of our cloud environments and software services, drawing input from the entire development team. You will be the go-to person when it comes to cloud environments and be responsible for sharing your infrastructure expertise with our development teams. The key aspects of this role include:
- Continuously refine our infrastructure as code setup.
- Analyze, propose and put in place key metrics, and evolve our current instrumentation and monitoring toolchain and setup.
- Define alerts and escalation mechanisms and processes.
- Iteratively improve our CI/CD, release process and toolchain with the rest of the development team.
- Take point on platform and data security and best practices.
- Define, implement, document and continuously refine our backup and recovery procedures and services- including dry runs with the team on the top disaster recovery scenarios.
- Be part of the product development team and develop software in GO or Typescript.
Who you are
To succeed in this role, you have hands-on experience in defining, implementing and operating cloud environments independently. You will be our infrastructure expert and thats why we expect you to be comfortable with owning our cloud infrastructure and sharing your knowledge with our development teams.
We expect you to have hands-on experience building Cloud infrastructure in AWS and experience in creating and maintaining Kubernetes clusters. You have a good understanding of Infrastructure as Code frameworks such as Terraform and an informed perspective on cloud observability solutions for Metrics, Logging, Profiling and Tracing such as DataDog. You also have a development background and can contribute to the development of our Go or Typescript-based platform.
You understand the retaliative merits of using managed services and constantly monitor and optimise our cloud usage and cost ensuring that we always get the most out of every dollar of our cloud bill. You have a holistic perspective of how to identify and remediate performance bottlenecks, robustness issues and security weaknesses in application code on the basis of a thorough understanding of AWS cloud services in general and GKE in particular.
We believe that you have some years of experience working with software development in an Agile setting and curiosity to learn and eagerness to collaborate with those around you.
