Avalanche Studios Group is looking to hire a Technical Sound Designer to join our Sound Department in one of our three locations in Stockhom, Malmo and Liverpool

At Avalanche, you will have an opportunity to be part of a variety of projects with driven and talented sound designers, audio programmers, and development teams.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about sound pipelines and in game implementation, music design, has a keen ear for quality sound work, and can embed and work as a part of the larger development team. What our Technical Sound Designers do:

- Work with the project sound teams to optimize and refine current audio pipelines across all games.
- Implement in-game audio, and script systems alongside sound designers.
- Provide technical guidance for sound designers and programmers across multiple games and divisions.
- Help set and maintain audio performance standards on varying platforms.
- Act as the glue between sound designers requests, and how programmers fulfill them.
- Edit and implement music assets in middleware
- Partner with team members across disciplines to find solutions that best support quality audio.
- Playtest regularly and help identify opportunities to improve audio quality.

Who we are looking for:

- Experience as a technical sound designer, or similar working experience.
- Exceptional Wwise implementation skills.
- Experience with scripting languages such as Unity C# Python, Javascript, etc.
- Experience with visual scripting languages such as Blueprints, Max/MSP, etc
- Ability to work well with all departments and accept and run with feedback.
- Experience in industry standard DAWs like ProTools or Reaper
- Musical knowledge, and a vision for interactive music a plus!
- Experience with C, C++, a….plus!

Our Interview Process:

If your qualifications are a good match, we’ll initiate a call with you and a recruitment representative to align and review your CV together. Next, an interview with a selection of our Project and Sound Leads to present the role and responsibilities, and ask questions about your past work and projects. A short written test showcasing your technical writing and problem solving skills, with real world problems we’d present a technical sound designer.

Finally, a feedback meeting with a selection of our Sound Department to discuss your test, the immediate project work, and your long term goals
