We now have several open positions for you who have the interest to work within the area of cloud software development, AWS, and connected systems. 

At Scania R&D, within the Connected System unit (EC), we work with the future's sustainable transport system and the connected vehicle.

Our responsibility is to ensure that data from the connected products can be used to generate as much value as possible. We innovate and deliver data insights to empower product-, service- and business developers to take the right, data-based decisions.

In these roles, you will get the opportunity to:

• Build IoT functions in tight collaboration between embedded and backend development.
• Cooperate with stakeholders at Scania to understand which insights are needed to solve a business problem.
• Work in a team that is responsible for the complete process all the way from requirement handling, development, quality assurance to production and maintenance.
• Be part of an agile team and in all parts of the process of turning data from our connected products into usable insights.

Who are we looking for?

You are a team player with the ambition to develop both yourself and the team. Since we are both building cloud and embedded applications within the team you should be a curious person, willing to take on development tasks outside your primary expertise. As a person, you are pragmatic and communicative, with a genuine technical interest. You have a well-developed logical mindset that will enable you to understand how to turn requirements into code. Diversity is important at Scania and our team, therefore it is important for you to easily communicate in English. 

The common base of knowledge and education needed for these roles are:

• Bachelor or Master's degree in computer science or a related field of studies
• Experienced in one or more: backend, embedded, or cloud development 
• Very good level of English, both spoken and written.

Selection of various openings

Backend & Cloud Developer to Connected System. You are an experienced SW Developer and you have worked with back-end development (C#, Python, etc) and with Cloud infrastructure (AWS or Azure) development. Contact Katarina Prytz, Head of Connected Diagnostics +46 8 553 723 08. 

Software Engineer in R&D Connected Data. As an experienced Software Engineer/Developer you have worked with data warehouses in production, backend development and cloud infrastructure. Our development environments are mainly Snowflake and AWS, choosing program languages most suitable to get the task done (e.g. SQL, Python, Java, Scala, C#). Cloud developer. You are a senior developer (at least 5 years) with AWS cloud experience (at least 2 years). In your career, you have worked with Python, AWS Lambda, Dynamo DB, and Kinesis or similar technologies. Other tools you are familiar with might be Gitlab (runners, CI/CD) and Jira.
