System Engineer within Ericsson Radio

In the system team we are looking for a skilled System Engineer to contribute to Ericsson Radio technology growth!

Job Description

In the system team within Radio Products Sweden 1 (RPSE1) in Product Development Unit (PDU) Radio we work in different focus and functional areas to cover the radio functionality in Ericsson’s radio product portfolio for 4G, 5G, 6G and the future. The scope of functionality spans from operation and maintenance and communication with the digital unit and the antenna system, down to the to HW control system.

In the role you are responsible for systemize radio functionalities, including functions for configuration, control and compensation as well as supervision, report and protection functions. This work includes cooperation with SW design, HW design, integration, other system departments, ASIC design etcetera. In general, the job includes writing functional requirements and descriptions, where one of the main stakeholders is radio software development.

Profile

You have experience from systems development and are interested in understanding how it all fits together to ensure an overall good solution. You know how to break down complex problems and solve them and how to explain so that more people can understand. You are organized and self-motivated and able to turn ideas into concrete solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Drive and/or participate in the development of new radio functions and improve and adapt existing radio functions for the radio products.
  • Responsible for writing functional requirements and specifications.
  • Work in the product development projects.
  • Actively lead others within your technical area.
  • Participate in technical studies.

Key Qualifications

  • Education: M.Sc. or PhD in electrical engineering, embedded software, applied physics or equivalent.
  • Min years of work experience: 7
  • Min years of system work experience: 1
  • Domain experience: embedded systems and embedded software
  • Knowledge in product development cycle
  • Experience of C/C++ or similar programming languages
  • Self-motivated with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good technical communication skills, both written and oral
  • Proficient in English

Optional Requirements

  • Working experience within HW design
  • Familiarity with system-on-chip/FGPA design
  • Working experience within software development
