As our quest to democratise financial services continues at blazing speed, our Business Identity team is looking for a passionate Backend Developer with a good deal of experience and a truly Agile mindset to join Zettle's journey .

In this role, you will co-tackle a wide range of challenges together with a group of passionate groundbreakers driven by the shared ambition to develop hassle-free solutions improving small businesses everyday life. Are you with us?

A glimpse of what you will get here

Part of Zettle's Seller Lifecycle Alliance, our Identity Area develops and sharpens the foundation on which all our product integrations end up standing on. By joining our team, your day-to-day will notably consist in creating and owning smooth integrations between business applications used across Zettle's ecosystem. In this spirit, you will be taking care of the business data of all our merchants throughout their lifecycle.

Simply stated, we see this role as an opportunity to actively contribute to all aspects of the backend while being involved in all facets of the software engineering including the infrastructure, data, deployment, monitoring, architecture, code reviews, and more. In other words, here no day is like another!

The skills to succeed

As we believe in using the best tools for the task, we continuously review our toolkit, architecture, ways of working, and we’re open to new technologies and frameworks. Today we notably work with Java 15+, Dropwizard, Docker, Kubernetes, PostgreSQL, and everything is hosted on AWS.

To thrive in this role, we think that you would benefit from having a experience with:

• Java 8+ with frameworks as Dropwizard or Spring Boot.
• API Integrations.
• Building distributed systems with REST.
• Working with continuously delivered systems.
• SQL and data modelling with PostgreSQL.
• Cloud development with Docker, Kubernetes preferably in AWS.
• Pair/Mob programming.

The traits to exceed

• An interest for working with product & design as well as for solving complex challenges in small, agile and cross-functional teams.
• A keen motivation for collaborating with a wide range of talented people within the business functions and other engineering teams.
• A natural drive for sharing your knowledge, experience and opinions while respecting the necessity to make decisions as a team.
• A constant desire to learn combined with an endless appetite for exploring new things.

Earn extra points if you have experience with:

• Microservice architecture.
• System for Cross-domain Identity Management (SCIM).
• Automated testing.
• GraphQL.
• Cassandra or other NoSQL databases.
• React or similar Javascript frameworks.
• Unix Linux OS.
