Senior Front End Solution Architect (Java, PDM)

As a part of the Volvo Group digital transformation we are looking for new, smarter ways to support our users. We want to make life easier for our users and believe this can be achieved through smart functionality in combination with an intuitive interface all ending up in a great user experience!

As a Frontend Architect, you will have the opportunity to develop our front end, design, user experience – and take it to a whole new level! In this role, you will be hands on with coding while simultaneously setting the standard for our front-end vision and strategy.

As the team is mainly focused on back-end development today, you will be responsible for initiating, driving, and leading frontend initiatives – of course, with the support of your other team members. You will also have great support from the Volvo UX team.

WHO ARE WE...?

We are one of five teams developing and maintaining the core application within the product development at Volvo (KOLA) – the heart of Volvo product documentation. The team is co-located in Gothenburg, Sweden – with the possibility to work partly from home, adopting to the “new normal”.

In our product team, we have an open and creative dialogue, always looking for new and better ways to solve the user needs. We are team members of different background, genders and experiences. With us, you will take a key role in an agile team, striving for adopting DevOps manners. We are Software Engineers, Solution Architects, Solution Engineers and Product Owner dedicated and engaged to deliver with high quality.

THE DELIVERY

Our solution is used globally within Volvo Group by around 14 000 persons and our team has focus on delivering smart assistants for these users - our main goal is to make the end users life easier.

Volvo group is accelerating our digital transformation and as a core solution for the complete Volvo group we are in the forefront utilizing modern technologies as well as methodology. When applicable we apply Lean UX methodologies, including Design Thinking. We have a lot of exciting opportunities ahead of us!

YOUR PERSONALITY IS YOUR KEY ASSET!

You are a customer focused team player with experience of working as Front end Solution Architect or Front end Software engineer in an agile team. You have a passion for coding, always eager to develop your skills and contribute to the team development.

WE THINK YOU HAVE…

• Several years of experience of development with frontend technologies being fluent in HTML/JavaScript/CSS
• Experience in designing and building complex web applications for modern JavaScript frameworks
• Knowledge in how to design web applications with security built-in from the start
• And that you are fluent in English (both speaking and writing), and preferably Swedish as well

NICE TO HAVE…

• Knowledge in UX-Design best practices, like Lean UX
• Knowledge in asynchronous programming, microservice architecture, cloud services and test automation frameworks
• Knowledge in backend development, primarily Java
• Knowledge in designing REST APIs
• Experience from Spring framework
