We are looking for a Software Engineering Manager (w/m/d) to lead one of our platform or feature teams creating the Foodora (Northern Europe), Foodpanda (APAC), Netpincer (Hungary), Dáme jídlo (Czech Republic), and MJAM (Austra) products. More than 50 Million food orders happen via our platform every month - and that’s still just the start! In a year from now, we want to help 200 Million people to order their food or other goods.

Our Selection Domain is on a mission to enable a personalized selection experience for making better decisions, faster. Our objectives focus on making order selection a great social experience and have smooth order selection planning, we optimize our efforts on different core flows in the app, through the menu, group orders, and pre-order focus.

Do you have a track record of leading excellent Engineering Teams with an agile mindset? Is your leadership style focused on helping your team and each individual within your team to grow and achieve outstanding results? Do you have a strong Backend background? • Defining the strategic direction of your team and contributing to the technical strategy for the entire Foodpanda, Foodora, Netpincer, and Dáme jídlo consumer products

• Guiding and coaching an exceptional team of engineers, mentoring them in technical and non-technical aspects, and leading them to build stable, scalable, and reliable features and services

• You will help them to shape their individual careers and grow the team to become more self-organized, more agile, and more autonomous

• Establishing and growing best Engineering Practices with your team (e.g. TDD, CI/CD, Agile Methodologies, etc.) in order to improve the engagement of your team, the speed of delivery, and the quality of the features and services you own

• In close collaboration with the team’s product manager, you will both lead projects, manage stakeholder expectations and dependencies, do continuous prioritization, alignment, and cost management

• You’ll be expected to play an active role in evolving our overall architecture, especially for systems and products owned by your team

• You will also be expected to contribute to scaling different processes of the organization, such as engineering hiring and onboarding

Your heroic skills:

• You know how to set an inspiring vision that drives the team towards the bigger picture, and you serve the team, enabling them to get there

• You know how to coach and/or mentor your team, you have the strategic vision to understand growth needs and how to scale a team, and you have a track record of hiring and developing the best talent for your team

• You have a good understanding of the product and business KPIs, and how to translate strategy into action using the OKR framework. You are good at managing project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables

• You utilize various frameworks, practices, and approaches for solving complex problems on a technical and organizational level

• As a manager of software engineers, you have hands-on programming experience (using Golang, Java, JavaScript, PHP, Swift, or Kotlin) as well as a solid knowledge of designing and creating cloud-based, distributed, and scalable system architectures

• You have outstanding communication and presentation skills

• You have experience in managing cross-functional teams
