How We Can Contribute to a Greener Internet
We recently released our white paper (https://seenthis.co/insights/pressrelease/how-to-reduce-co2-emission) where we outline the internet’s impact on the environment. In this document, we share how the everyday use of phones and computers drives data usage and carbon emissions. 🌱

During the last year, we have successfully optimized our streaming technology to reduce data usage and carbon footprint from our clients’ display advertising campaigns. But, over the summer, we asked ourselves - what if we could apply this technology to entire websites as well, and not just the ads? After all, there are about 1.2 billion websites in the world, and their aggregated data usage, as well as carbon footprint, is huge.

We quickly realized that we had discovered something with enormous potential, and focused our efforts to develop a new product in record time. How? We built an integration for our image streaming technology, to automatically replace a site’s image delivery with our own streamed format instead. We tested it on a couple of websites, and we saw the same results as with our ads products. Wow!

Websites using our technology saw substantial reductions in their data usage from image delivery, which also leads to reductions in their carbon footprint. In addition, the images are rendered a lot faster as well. That's why we can’t wait to continue to develop this product and bring it to the market! And that's why we need you.

About You
We are looking for a highly motivated full-stack developer to lead our exciting development project in collaboration with the project manager, the product owner, and our tech team.

As Lead Engineer, you will be a productive member of the team working across the stack with both frontend and backend, optimizing our streaming tech, discovering new products, and fitting it all together with a good-looking frontend. You will also be part of planning the development roadmap, and recruiting and coaching new colleagues joining the team.

Qualifications
You have:

- 5+ years of experience in full-stack development

- Good knowledge of Javascript, Node.js, and modern frontend frameworks like React, Vue.js, Svelte

- Professional proficiency in Swedish and English

Extra plus if you have experience from any of the following:
- E-commerce, Sales Funnels, Growth Hacking, Stripe or similar payment solutions

- Leadership responsibility

- Working in a start-up environment

You could start instantly in this role, but our more realistic goal is to have a great candidate on board in August this year (we have some consultants covering up until then!).
