About you

As a Senior Data Engineer your responsibilities will be developing and expanding our client's data and data pipeline architecture. As a data wrangler and data pipeline builder you will optimize data flows and the collection of data from the ground up. In your role you will often support multi-functional teams as well as software developers, data analysts and data scientists on data initiatives and ensure consistent data delivery throughout the entirety of a project.

At times be involved in presale activities including client meetings, workshops and internal Avanade bid processes where you work with your sales team and technical consultants to transition sales from qualification to closing.

Long experience is of course merit, but above all, we are looking for the right person who has a good balance of drive, experience, forward-thinking and technical knowledge. We believe you communicate difficult matters with ease at every level, ranging from operational to executive.

About the role

You will be working on highly complex projects for some of Sweden's most well-known companies, all while developing your own career. Day to day, you will:

• Design and build modern data pipelines and data streams
• Design and build data service APIs
• Expose data to end users using Power BI, Azure API Apps or other modern visualization platforms
• Analyze current business practices, processes and procedures and identify future opportunities for leveraging Microsoft Azure data & analytics PaaS services
• Support the planning and implementation of data platform services including sizing, configuration, and needs assessment
• Implement effective metrics and monitoring processes
• Work as a trusted advisor to our clients.

Is this you or could it be you with the help of our unlimited learning?

• You have minimum 3-4 years of experience with ETL tools, Databricks, SQL, SSAS & T-SQL
• You are familiar with Azure DevOps (Repos, CI/CD etc.)
• Good understanding of Lambda architecture patterns
• Experience with data visualization using Power BI, SAS VA, and Power Pivot
• Tabular models (DAX) in Visual Studio
• Good understanding of Data Governance, including Master Data Management (MDM) and Data Quality tools and processes
• Influencing and supporting project delivery through involvement in project/sprint planning and QA
• Experience with Agile methodology
• Experience on collaboration tools such as JIRA, Kanban Board, Confluence etc
• Good basic understanding of Azure - you will learn a lot the way at Avanade
• Having experience in one or more of these technologies would be an advantage: Python, .NET or C#.
