Backend Developer for our Box Team

About The Role
Budbee is currently on an exciting growth journey and we are looking for an experienced Backend Developer to join our Box Team in Stockholm. The team responsibility is to develop and maintain the Budbee Box product and the underlying infrastructure. The team consists of four backend developers, one frontend developer, Tech lead and Product manager. The team works close to the real world and shares knowledge both in the team and towards the organization.

You are expected to work with one or more of: backend services, cloud infrastructure and embedded software running on the box product.

We are an international team so Swedish is not a requirement if you are fluent in English.

About you
You have previously worked in a broad tech stack in cross-functional teams and are well-versed in the agile process. You have a good understanding about practical limitations and problems with hardware in public spaces. You pay great attention to detail and consider software stability and clean code mindset as fundamental. You care about providing robust solutions. You enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and taking initiative. You can drive discussions and have strong communicative skills.

First days at Budbee
Your very first set of tasks are going to be:

- Getting situated with your new equipment and the Budbee code

- Learn about all teams and their areas

- Getting your feet wet by creating new features in our new box backend

What you’ll do at daily basis:

- Take an active part in discussions around code and infrastructure

- Plan and execute on features and new requirements from the business

- Write awesome code with an agile approach and with maintainability in focus

Desired skills

- At least 3 years of professional experience in Java backend development

- Good communication skills

- Experience with IoT systems and protocols

- Experience with embedded systems

- Critical thinker with a pragmatic approach to problems

- Experienced in working with an agile development methodology
