More about the position

As Lead Developer you will be developing Android-based payment applications that is a critical piece of the payment infrastructure we provide to our customers. Your code will be running in payment terminals in some of the largest retail chains in the Nordics. We use a modern technology stack using Android Studio and Kotlin.

The work will focus on solutions targeting our card terminals (from vendor PAX) but we also see that the market is moving toward payment applications running on all types of hardware that we would like to experiment with (softPOS, eCom-app-integrations, etc.).

We currently have one full team of Android developers in our Oslo office, but you will be one of the first Android developers in Stockholm. As a lead developer we expect you to take a leading role in the further building of the new Stockholm team, with strong support from your local manager, he members of the existing Oslo-based team and other engineering teams in Stockholm.

Your role is primarily responsible for creating and designing quality software solutions meeting the needs of our customers. As a Lead Developer you are also expected to be able to independently break down features into code, balancing technical long and short-term strategies, improve our pipelines and ways of working, and giving guidance to more junior developers.

We are looking for someone that We are looking for an innovative and experienced senior developer with a genuine interest in software development and technical leadership.

You are someone who likes to take ownership of the big picture and thrives in a fast-paced environment. You enjoy writing clean, testable, and maintainable code. You think creatively and are not afraid to express your opinions yet humble and loves to solve problems.

When not writing code, you are also eager to take part in features planning and estimations, share knowledge and help colleagues with challenging tasks and improve existing architecture.

We also think it’s good if you have

- several years of hands-on mobile and/or payment terminal development experience, ideally in the payment industry.
- Experience in Android, Java (preferably Kotlin) and git.
- IT education at university level or other relevant experience
- Ability to work independently and structured
- Ability to participate in solution discussions and to come up with your own solution proposals
- Ability to ensure the quality of other developers' work
- An understanding of agile development methodologies
- High degree of responsibility and ability to interact with others
- Fluent in English as it is our corporate language
