What’s in it for you?
Do you want be part of our Visualisation department at Volvo Cars Design with the ambition of becoming the best in our industry? To be a part of a team of Artists and Developers focused on digital car dataset creation enabling for streamlined content creation, future customer experience and XR development?

We are now searching for an experienced Technical Visualisation Artist joining our Technical Visualisation team. To succeed in this role, we believe you have a passion for gathering, organising and cleanup digital models in an accurate and structured way with an eye for detail to create a complete digital car dataset as a base for digital photorealistic visualisation assets.

The team has a focus on realising design projects into commercial assets mainly through the concepts Digital Twin and Digital Universe. By creating a customer digital twin car dataset, improve content creation pipeline and enable for creation of customer experiences of tomorrow, we create the opportunity for our surrounding world to explore our products.

What you will do:
As a Technical Visualisation Artist, you will utilise 3D models from PLM system, build up interior and exterior visualisation models adding surface materials to build a complete digital car dataset to be used creating high quality images, animations and movies for end customer purposes. You will work closely with project managers, expert engineers, design managers and designers to build up and visual signoff visualisation model.

Do you fit the profile?
We believe you have experience working as a Technical Visualisation Artist or 3D Data Preparation Artist in the automotive or gaming industry. You have advanced software skills in Deltagen, Maya or Blender. You are an expert in data preparation workflow with best practices of gathering, organizing and cleanup CAD models. You know how to work with UV unwrapping, shadows and normals baking, materials assignments, hierarchies, and scene tree management. You have good understanding in real-time visualisation software like VRED. Software skills in Catia and Teamcenter is a bonus. A big plus if you know how to model soft parts and details in Maya or Blender, optimise models to low poly models to be used for 3D and XR experiences, use InstaLOD, Pyxis or similar and script in Python.

We believe you have a master’s degree from a university, technical college or similar and a great understanding of visualisation software and technical pipeline for content creation. You have several years of relevant experience within this technical area, i.e., from other automotive company, computer game industry, CGI production company or product experience company.

You as a person is motivated and engaged and a “nothing is impossible” attitude. You like to share knowledge and enjoys working in teams. We believe you have good cooperation and communication skills. As we strive to be the best in our field, we are happy to see that you are highly driven and result focused.

Last but not least you are fluent in English since Volvo is a global company.
