Responsibilities

The successful candidate will join our Research and Innovation team based in Stockholm and will work on the development and implementation of machine learning methods for materials modelling. 

Responsibilities will include:

  • Identifying and assessing opportunities to apply  machine learning methods to improve and further extend the models and algorithms at the core of the company’s simulation software.
  • Development of  machine learning models working on the whole project lifecycle, from conceptualization to building and testing/refinement of software prototypes.
  • Collaborating with our Software development team to drive the implementation and deployment of  machine learning methods into the company’s software products.

Qualifications

Job requirements:
  • Degree (PhD or MS) in Computer Science, Statistics, or Mathematics with a focus on areas of Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, or Statistical Data Analysis.
  • Enthusiasm for team work and demonstrated ability to work autonomously.
  • Proven hands-on experience in at least several general-purpose machine learning and artificial intelligence techniques including deep learning, Bayesian analysis, Gaussian processes, Monte Carlo algorithms, kernel-based methods, and tree-based methods.
  • Excellent programming experience in one or more of the following languages: Python, R, MATLAB, C/C++, Java, and FORTRAN. 
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
Desirable knowledge and experience:
  • Hands-on experience with the stack of Python libraries and tool for data modeling including numpy, scipy, pandas, matplotlib, bokeh, plotly, ipython/jupyter, etc.
  • Knowledge of one or more of the mainstream machine learning software libraries such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow/Keras, PyTorch, etc.
  • Familiarity with the best practices and tools of modern software development such as version control (using, e.g., git or SVN), unit testing, and continuous integration.
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms.
In addition, you should be self-motivated and eager to constantly develop your skills.
