Frontend to team Motor

And we’re rolling. The road is there, some bumps everywhere, but with big wheels we keep on turning, and Sten in the team is burning (i.e. on fire as the rest of us. It is really exciting times!). We’re rolling Blocket Motor by building some really great products. You will have the greatest cross functional team with co-drivers to collaborate with in order to build new fantastic, secure and trustable products that will make life much more smooth and lovely for our dear clients and users. And they are many, like everywhere in Sweden. So jump in, seatbelts on, let’s roll!

We are Blocket, Sweden’s largest and most popular marketplace with around 12,3M monthly active users generating 100 million sessions. What you will be up to

Exciting times as mentioned, we are on fire! Welcome to Blocket Motor, Blocket’s strongest and financially biggest growth engine. And specifically, welcome to our team where we focus on our private users who want to buy or sell a vehicle at Blocket. Everything from making it easy to find a car that suits your need, displaying the correct information about a boat, making it smooth to enter information about the vehicle you want to sell and creating an ad to promote it on Blocket. Our ambition is to take the user experience to the next level and create new types of values both for our users and for Blocket. That is what we are doing during our working hours. In addition, our work leads towards a more sustainable world, so you will get a little karma in this role as well. Not bad at all.

You will work in a cross functional team with three-four additional developers, as well as UX, data insights, product management and your Engineering Manager.

Who you are

We believe you are a seasoned developer with at least 4 years hands-on experience of Frontend development working in a team. You are able to independently lead the development of new features, and enjoy discussing and debating code and solutions with your peers. You like sharing your knowledge with your cross functional team and also more junior developers and above all, you are curious and continuously strive to learn new things. We are often working in pairs so collaboration is another key.

Hello from your colleagues

Hey there! Welcome to us! You will be working with such a widely used product that has so many active users. This means that the things we are building will be seen and used by a lot of people every day. All car dealers in the country are here. Big and small. It is also a great technical challenge having such a large user base. We constantly get the chance to develop and release new features and updates to make Blocket Motor an even better product. That is inspiring! Another inspiring thing is to work with a product that really lies in time, sustainability is everything these days. The tech stack used by the team is modern, it is really nice to work with an event driven micro service architecture. Frontend and backend work tightly together, we do a lot of pair- and mob programming.

Sten is our manager and with him you can be yourself, perfectly candid and relaxed. He is very involved in the product and the team, always up for a chat, good meal or a ride. Although more into roller coasters than Harley's.

Hi there, I’m your new manager

My name is Sten and it’s my job to make sure you develop great stuff, have fun and grow as a person. We have many great challenges ahead of us. Both technical and to create great experiences. As a developer my core competence are within iOS and mobile development but I have wide experience from different phases of the product development cycle.

In my role as manager and coach I like to see everyone in my team to get involved, have fun and grow as both developers and humans. I really would love to work with you :-)
