VP of Engineering

We are looking for a dedicated VP of Engineering to play a critical role as Vinter is expanding rapidly in market reach and depth of product. As the VP of Engineering, you will play a critical role, in maturing the platform and delivering robust products across vertical markets. You will lead software engineering across multiple projects, managing distributed teams remotely. You will have a budget to grow an internal team as well as engage outsourced teams. As a key executive team member, you will work closely with the founding team on product strategy, collaborating with the CTO on new technologies and designs.

The VP of Engineering at Vinter will provide technical leadership, drive modern software engineering processes, and help grow and manage the team at this exciting phase of the company’s development. The candidate must be able to deliver reliable products under evolving requirements.

Vinter’s mission is to institutionalize crypto. We create and calculate complex yet elegant crypto indexes used in financial products worldwide. Our customers are some of the most successful crypto funds in the world, and our investors are some of the most well-respected in the industry. We recently raised a $3.4M Series Seed and are now looking to build one of the greatest teams in our industry.

Responsibilities

- Oversee existing architecture and processes.
- Lead, guide, assess, and motivate existing team members.
- Participate in recruiting new team members.
- Solve challenging technical problems and deliver a hardened, scalable platform that is ready to be used by financial institutions with billions in assets under management.

Requirements

- Experience as a VP of Engineering from one of the major financial data or index providers.
- Successfully lead the development of data platforms that delivered terabytes of data in real-time.
- Strong background in leading an engineering team at a startup that thrived under your leadership or experience building engineering teams at a high-growth tech organization.
- Proven experience creating, and building enterprise software products that are a delight to use.
- Technical mastery of the modern software stack, including real-time client-side processing, embedding software in apps and devices, and global server infrastructure.
- Establishing modern tools and processes for software development, project management, and data/asset management. We are looking for a process-driven individual with an eye for detail combined with the ability to inspire the team to do its best work.
- Managing small outsourced teams across time zones, coordinating with internal teams.
- Working well with design and product teams, incorporating the needs of multiple stakeholders into features and schedules.
- Experience recruiting, leading, and scaling technical organizations.
- Collaborating with the CTO and other technical team members to support continuous innovation in products and processes.
- Fluency with Python.
