You will be part of the Data team, which works horizontally throughout the company to promote a data-driven culture and its mission is to enable other teams by providing access to information and recommendations to promote impactful decisions.

What you will get to do as a Data Engineer

In this role you will have the unique opportunity to work in a team that is responsible for the development, automation and scaling of data services. Your stakeholders will be data scientists and analysts, as well as anyone else in the company that has any interest in access to data.

As a Data Engineer at Detectify, you will handle the growth and performance of the data infrastructure, including:

• Translating data needs into software and infrastructure requirements
• Design and maintain the data infrastructure-as-code
• Batch and real-time processing
• Processing large volumes of data
• Monitoring and scalability

Together with your fellow data engineers, you will own the data infrastructure and take the responsibility to design, develop and maintain it as you see best fit internal business needs and industry practice. Our data infrastructure is built on an event-sourcing architecture and deployed in the AWS cloud. Some of the technologies we use are S3, Kubernetes, Glue, Athena, Firehose, Elasticsearch, Docker, PostgreSQL, Looker and Luigi. Our infrastructure is entirely written in python.

Who you are

You are a creative person who sets and achieves ambitious goals in a collaborative and challenging environment. You continuously evaluate and reflect on your own solutions and seek recommendations to improve your skills. Furthermore, you have no problems speaking to different stakeholders within the organization.

Your background

• Education in engineering, quantitative sciences or compatible skills.
• Experience as a Data Engineer or equivalent role.
• Able to write readable, maintainable and memory/cpu efficient code.
• Experience with some or all the technologies mentioned above, experience with AWS is definitely a plus.
• You can explain technical findings to non-technical stakeholders.
• A genuine interest in learning and experimenting with new technologies.
• You are a team player.

Remote work

This position is for the Stockholm office. We offer remote working, with access to our office in central Stockholm. We think you should be able to work from anywhere but for tax reasons we need you to be located in Sweden, and we are more than happy to help you relocate.
