Main responsibilities

- Participate in continuous process improvement activities

- Designing and implementing Java-based applications
- Create designs that are modular, scalable, robust and meet customer requirements
- Perform unit testing and on target testing to ensure the software meets the high-quality standards our customers expect
- Debugging and resolving technical problems that arise
- Producing detailed design documentation
- Ensuring continuous professional self-development
- Use Agile methodology to develop the software
- Contribute to all stages of software development lifecycle
- Conducting software analysis, programming, testing, and debugging
- Manage Java and Java EE application development
- Transforming requirements into stipulations
- Prepare and produce releases of software components
- Support continuous improvement, investigating alternatives and technologies, and presenting for architectural review

Qualifications

- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
- You have prior experience in Java development, with a good understanding of its ecosystems
- Strong knowledge of Java Application Frameworks (Struts, Spring, Hibernate, Springboot)
- Hands-on experience working in an Agile environment
- You have at least 3 years of experience in object-oriented software development with Java and JEE
- You have solid know-how in modern web technologies (e.g. HTML, CSS, JavaScript, REST, XML, JSON)
- Your database skills are good (e.g. modeling, SQL)
- You have deep knowledge of established frameworks and platforms (e.g. SAP Commerce is a benefit)
- Experience in working with popular web application frameworks like Play and Spark is a plus
- Basic knowledge of JVM (Java Virtual Machine), its drawbacks, weaknesses, and workarounds
- You enjoy software development and you are always interested in new developments (e.g. Java, Web, Mobile & Open Source)
- Basic Understanding of the concepts of MVC (Model-View-Controller) Pattern, JDBC (Java Database Connectivity), and RESTful web services
- In-depth knowledge of code versioning tools, for instance, Git
- Understanding of building tools like Ant, Maven, Gradle, etc
- Ability to write clean, readable Java code
- Your English skills are excellent, Swedish is a plus
- Analytical mindset and good problem-solving skills
- Ability to work as part of a team

Experience and knowledge in the following areas are beneficial

- JavaServer pages (JSP) and servlets
- Service-oriented architecture
- Web Technologies like HTML, JavaScript, CSS, JQuery
- Markup Languages such as XML, JSON
- Multithreading and Synchronization
