About this opportunity

ADP is a new department in Ericsson dedicated to microservice development with the purpose of enabling 5G. As a developer in a microservice team you will be working in a cross-functional team with full responsibility for the development and lifecycle of a microservice. Your service will be directly used in the products that make up 5G. It’s an opportunity to work in all areas of microservice development allowing you to find out what areas suits you the best with the possibility to specialize in those that interest you the most.

Since the responsibilities lies with the team it’s up to the team to organize and work together to solve the tasks at hand. Strong teams are the foundation of ADP and you will be part of a team of people that will complement each other and learn from each other every day.

While your first focus will lie in understanding one particular area of service at hand, as you gain more experience you will eventually be expected to branch out and broaden your knowledge to allow for an understanding and contribution of all areas of the development lifecycle. Such areas include, but are not limited to; automation, testing and implementation.

Because very few tasks and features are the same the work entails constantly learning new techniques and applying them. If you are eager for learning, want to work with the latest technology in a team based on trust and open communication you will fit in well with us.

What you will do

As a developer in a microservice team you will have the following key responsibilities

  • Drive the development of the service itself by participating in investigating, breaking down and implementing features.
  • Develop the CI/CD chain for the service including working with and extending existing test-frameworks and driving automation work.
  • Develop the microservice container environment including adapting to common requirements from Ericsson as well as developing new features.
  • Acting as support for internal and external users of the service by troubleshooting issues and providing fixes.

You will bring

On a technical level you will need experience with the following:

  • The language of the service (Golang or Java)
  • Kubernetes
  • Working with APIs
  • Development in a Linux based environment
  • Docker
  • Troubleshooting
  • Understanding of CI/CD
  • Experience with one of Bash, Groovy or Python

The following skills are of merit for the position:

  • Helm
  • Experience working with complex systems
  • Knowledge of software architecture
  • Microservice security
  • Knowledge about software development processes
  • Jenkins/spinnaker
