What you’ll do
Located in ART Common Base Technologies, in the heart of Volvo car’s SW development the Car Config team improve, and support car configuration parameters based on new functionality for all platforms. The team designs and implement the car configuration software module in VCU (Vehicle Computation Unit) and provide guideline for ECU (Electronic Control Unit) application to use car configuration service interfaces. As well as conduct Car Configuration testing activities and automate test methods, tools & processes and support and collaborate with internal stakeholders.As a Developer in Car Config, you will develop the carconfig applications and have the key responsibility to configure the right SW and HW to the different Volvo cars variants.
You will, plan, prioritize and coordinate the work with your colleagues in the team. Analyze the requirements, develop test cases, drive the implementation of test automation and integrate them in CI Chain. Develop test cases for requirements and implement test cases in CI Device. Identify test needs, execute test, and drive the implementation of test automation. Implement failure mode test cases. Support fault tracing and/or troubleshooting activities. Contribute to system testing and update of test methods, tools and processes. Contribute to the team's test strategy and work with other team members to improve the teams overall test strategy and quality of test.  Be a member in the agile team as well as managing interfaces with stakeholders internally and externally.

You and your skills

You are organized and structured and possess excellent communication and documentation skills.  You can build and maintain cross functional networks both within and outside your home organization to gain technical insights to learn as well improve way of working. Bachelor or master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent documented experience. Good software development skills to enabling test automation in: Python/CAPL, Robot Framework/Jenkins, Gerrit/GIT, Automation testing tools. Fluent in both written and spoken English. Swedish driving license B or equivalent.

Knowledge and awareness of: ISO 13400 DoIP protocol, CAN – 15765, ISO 14229 UDS protocol Wake-up strategies, CANoe, ParallelDiag, External/Internal Tester Priority State Machine, Logical architecture of Client Connection, Routers. Edge node and Gateway module. Basic knowledge in TCP/IP including key architectural principles and the different layers. Requirement handling. Knowledge and understanding of C and C++ coding. Experience from working in a SAFe/Agile team and environment.

Good to have
Knowledge of Vehicle Mode Management. ECU Activation and De-activation Sequence, P2P, Eth LAN, WLAN, Tester and Client Connections, EDCC FR - Requirements and Subsystems, VCC DoIP specification, Vehicle speed, Vehicle modes and Usage modes. ISO 13400 DoIP protocol. CAN – 15765, ISO 14229 UDS protocol. Basic knowledge in TCP/IP
