About this opportunity


Standards and Technology is an organization within business unit Networks that looks into future technologies and concepts, typically 3-5 years into the future. We are looking for a solution architect to work in our electronics laboratory to develop and maintain the lab infrastructure and associated services. As a solution architect, you will plan and operate software and hardware solutions in tight collaboration with the Standards and Technology engineers and researchers. Security and stability in the network must be maintained and the solutions/services need to be continuously optimized to meet agreed service levels in a cost-efficient and timely manner.


What you will do

  • Hands-on configuration of switches, routers, and firewalls
  • Hands-on - Scripting using PowerShell, Python, Perl.
  • Facilitate research & testing environments.
  • Participate in Joint-venture projects, migration projects and development projects.

We work in a rapidly changing environment and follow agile ways of working. You will be part of the lab support team, which consists of three people, supporting the ~150 lab users in the Standards and Technology organization.


You will bring

  • Very good understanding of local and wide area network concepts, IP routing protocols and topologies (OSPF, BGP, MPLS), and switching technologies (VLANs, Routing, Spanning Tree, ACL).
  • Good knowledge of GRE, IPSec VPNs, NAT/PAT.
  • Knowledge of network monitoring and other network administrative tools.
  • Experience with Juniper- QFX/EX/MX switches & routers and basic knowledge of firewall concepts preferably experience with Juniper SRX.
  • Advanced experience in Operating systems – Ubuntu, RHEL, Kubernetes, Docker and VMware.
  • Good problem-solving abilities and analytical skills.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of LTE/NR network design, and a good understanding of the Ericsson product portfolio.
  • Knowledge and skills in system administration.
  • Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • At least 8 years of experience.
