Fall Damage - Our studio
We are a Swedish mid-sized game studio, currently working on our second game - ALARA Prime (https://www.youtube.com/c/ALARAPrime), a competitive, multiplayer FPS.

The studio was founded by four veterans from DICE; we are now 62 people. We have an office in Södermalm, Stockholm, and are remote-friendly and digital-first -- Covid made us learn how to work well remotely, and remote/hybrid is the new normal for us - it works great!

About our development philosophy
- Build upon Unreal Engine, extend Unreal Engine, but avoid modifying the internals of Unreal Engine
- Playtest daily. Ship (internally) every Friday
- Use feature/task branches to ensure what arrives on the main branch is of reasonably high quality

Collaborate early. Collaborate often.

Who are we looking for?
We seek software engineers that have the following core skills:

- 5+ years of programming in C++
- 2+ years working professionally with Unreal in C++

Professional experience with:

- Unreal's core C++ gameplay systems: Player movement, camera handling, player controllers, the Gameplay Ability System, etc
- Unreal's client-server network model
- Unreal's C++ / BP interface: how to design and implement systems that enable designers to express themselves; how to make the systems easily available to designers on the BP side
- Collaboration with game designers while improving the game feel and core player experience

The ideal candidate is someone that finds it rewarding to write C++ code and then ask themselves, "does the result feel good to me as a player?"

Details about the assignment:
Start date: September 2022

Duration: 6 months

Time: Full-time (40h/week).

Location: Onsite, hybrid, or remote (within Central European Time) - whatever works best for the candidate
