ABB Robotics develops, manufactures and markets robots and associated control systems, software, arc welding products, tracks and motor packages. A clear focus on automated solutions helps manufacturers improve productivity, product quality and safety in the work environment through automation. The robots and robotics are sold via local ABB companies, as well as via independent systems integrators and OEM companies.

You will be part of a team working with cutting edge technology for our handheld device in robotics. The team develops the next generation programming interface for our customers with the latest Microsoft technology. The current exiting development within robotics creates both technical and business driven challenges. An important key is “Ease of Use” including 3D graphics and augmented reality. The work requires experience of embedded system with asynchronous programming and with limited hardware resources. Together with the other members of the team, you strive to reach agreed targets and goals. In our R&D projects, we use a Lean-Agile approach with a global mindset.

This position reports to R&D Team Lead.

Your responsibilities

  • Develop the next generation programming interface for our handheld device.
  • Take lead for your delivery and your own development.
  • Contribute to the team with your positive energy.

Your background

  • You have a M. Sc degree or another technical degree with at least a few years work experience.
  • Solid professional experience of software development in C#, .NET, WPF, XAML, UWP.
  • Experience of real-time systems with limited resources, including asynchronous programming.
  • You thrive in an environment where the best way forward might not yet be known.
  • You enjoy taking on interesting challenges and finding solutions together with others.
  • Strong communication skills in English, both written and oral.
  • Knowledge of Windows system programming and configuration, HTML5/JavaScript and domain knowledge in Robotics.
