Artificial Intelligence (AI) has taken the automotive industry by storm. With the large volumes of data available, we can develop and train neural networks to solve challenges in autonomous driving. Tools and infrastructure for collecting, transferring, organizing, enriching, and processing the data are instrumental for the efficient development of the autonomous driving stack. Our group, AI Technologies covers the complete task from data selection, annotation, Deep Neural Network (DNN), and other algorithms development to deployment of our DNNs on the target system in our autonomous driving prototype vehicles.

Do you want to work with AI and autonomous development while contributing with high-skilled programming knowledge? Together we develop as a team and take this highly challenging and interesting area to the future.

Who we are

We are a team of 14 people specializing in AI and computer vision who pursue research and development of future cutting-edge concepts within autonomous solutions. We work in self-steered teams and in close cooperation within TRATON, leading technology suppliers, and academic institutions.

Our goal is to detect and evaluate upcoming technologies thereby keeping up with the state of the art. To succeed, we need to be quick in concept development and shorten our feedback loops. Exploring concepts, following and pushing state-of-the-art, evaluating, learning, and iterating fast is our focus.

To succeed in this we embrace diversity and equal opportunity in a serious way. Our group is committed to building a team that represents a variety of backgrounds, perspectives, and skills.

Your new job

As an engineer in the AI Team, you will be involved in all stages of the development process; from managing sensor data collected using our test vehicles drives to deploying and verifying software in the vehicle and data pipeline. A major part of our infrastructure is managed by us in the AWS cloud today.

Examples of tasks:

• Develop machine learning algorithms for perception in autonomous vehicles
• Oversee training of neural networks on cloud infrastructure
• Develop and deploy algorithms to solve perception tasks as deep learning only solves part of the problem. These algorithms are implemented on our target platform using C++ and CUDA.

You will work in collaboration with different teams within Autonomous Transport Solutions and have the opportunity to learn more in the field of AI for autonomous driving. We measure success factors based on the build-measure-learn practice, enabled by a flexible platform that allows fast prototyping and testing of the latest autonomous driving concepts.

Your profile

In our team, we are analytical, result-oriented, self-driven, and face new challenges with a positive, can-do attitude. To enjoy working with us we believe you are open and curious towards your teammates, and supporting and contributing to the development with your technical expertise.

We need reinforcement and would like you to have:

• Masters or Ph.D. in Machine learning/Computer Vision related discipline with a good understanding of mathematical fundamentals of machine learning/deep learning.
• Have the curiosity and drive to research through the massive deep learning and computer vision literature.
• Be results driven and have a track record of delivered software projects (potentially ones that make use of ML/DL).
• Understanding of classical computer vision algorithms including stereo matching and multi-view geometry is a plus.
• Proficiency in C++ and/or Python. Experience in CUDA is a plus.
• A good knowledge of deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, and MXNet.

We offer

At Scania ATS Research we want you to succeed and develop because together with your team you contribute to a sustainable future securing a leading position for Scania in the autonomous industry.

Working at Scania you are offered benefits such as personnel car, mutual performance bonus, occupational pension, distance working in Sweden, flexible working hours, and much more. If you live in Stockholm, we offer our direct bus service between Stockholm City – Liljeholmen – Södertälje, and the Scania Job Express.
