We are looking for an experienced software developer to join the video team in Core Technologies Media. The job includes feature and algorithm development from idea to product within the scope of video coding.
Your future team
You will join the Core Technologies Media team, which is responsible for the technology development of both video and audio. We are a rather small, innovative, and diverse team where we value a curious mindset, knowledge sharing and openness.
As a core technology team, we have a responsibility to introduce and develop new and innovative video features to maintain our position as market leaders. This is done by building knowledge within the area, learning about our customers and spending time exploring new ideas and possibilities.
What is your role?
Video compression and video encoding is essential when you are in the business of delivering streamed video. In your role as video technology engineer you are part of forming our next generation video platform. The work you do will impact most of Axis products and adds a great value to our end-customers.
Among other things, you will handle complex challenges like introducing new video codec standards into our platforms, developing new video compression features/algorithms and address congestion problems when transmitting video over the network from camera to consumer.
Who are you?
You should have some years of experience within embedded software development, and we expect that you to have good programming knowledge, preferably within C/C++ and Python. It is good if you have experience with working in a Linux development environment.
As we are working with video encoding, it is an extra plus, but not a must, if you have knowledge within codecs standards like H.264, HEVC, or MJPEG, or video streaming protocols/frameworks and networks.
You should have a strong technical interest and you should find it interesting to explore new areas and gain new knowledge. You have a good analytical ability, and you can understand complex issues and processes.
Your academic background should be a master's degree in computer science, physics, electrical engineering or similar.
