Operation Graduate Program – Data Analyst


Position Description

Our unit for Digitalization & IT is now looking for our future star who in the role of data analyst will support and accelerate the digital transformation in our plant. The factory is currently facing a transformation journey within, among other things, digitization and you don't want to miss being part of that.


Digitalization & IT is responsible for the IT performance and for the digital transformation. We work in close cooperation with Group Digital & IT teams to provide the best support and deliver business value to the factory.


Background, responsibilities and expectations

The ambition for this role is to create standards when it comes to data analytics. You will support our organizational units with guidance in the field of Big Data and Advanced Analytics, lead and coordinate projects in the information/data management area. You will also support in creating and manage a network of data analysts in the different operational units.


As a Data Analyst, your main responsibilities will be to:

  • Be an expert of data analytics and support others with directives and guidance
  • Gather, Clean, Model, Interpret & Present data
  • Identify valuable data sources for our factory
  • Identify needs and propose solutions in terms of analytics processes, methods and tools
  • Understanding and managing different tools and systems needed for the process
  • Work cross-functionally with different teams within and outside the plant, on all levels
  • Participate in, or manage, projects related to your area of expertise

As a Data Analyst, you will have a great opportunity for personal development. You will be given the opportunity to grow within the area of Digitalization & IT, focusing on information management and data analysis. You will become a key person in our organization, as you will collaborate with several functions within the Volvo Group on many different levels. The role will give you the opportunity to develop your competences within the area of data analysis and you will play a crucial role on our journey towards Industry 4.0. Also, you will be able to get a clear and deep understanding of the business, its processes and needs associated with your competence area.


You will report directly to the director of Digitalization & IT and you will be located at our plant in Tuve.

As a person, you are social, driven, responsive, structured, analytical, and curious. You enjoy working closely with your colleagues and creating a team spirit and improving the business together with them. You have good problem-solving skills and good capacity to prioritize. You are a good communicant and have the ability to reach people.


Required knowledge/experience

  • Maximum two years of previous working experience, prior to or after graduation.
  • In this truly global program, communication will be in English, hence you need to be fluent in both speaking and writing in English.
  • Formal education: B.Sc. or M.Sc in relevant field.

It is meritorious if you have:

  • Experience from working with manufacturing/production
  • Previous work experience with Data analysis
  • Experience using business intelligence tools (e.g. Power-BI)
  • Knowledge from one or several; SQL, Python, Scala, Java or C++
  • Experience using Azure
