About this opportunity

We are in a very exciting digitalization transition phase for our solution Configuration and Product Packaging architecture and need to ensure that we can sell an ever-increasing complexity of variants of network products and systems to our customers. The solutions must be an optimized commercial & supply connection to streamline finances & secure quality deliveries. Hence, we need to strengthen our development teams with several software engineers in this area. Our unit PHR - Portfolio Handling & Release resides within the DNEW PDU NSV organization.

PHR consists today of 8 sections, 6 located in Kista Sweden and 2 in Poland, and we also have close cooperation with our partners ETK in Croatia.

The Solution Configuration department is responsible and drive the configuration modeling for the HW and SW product monthly releases.

We work with the modern technologies in the configuration and constraint programming areas to provide sophisticated configuration solutions for the Ericsson Radio System Product portfolio.

We are also responsible for the front- and backend design for the Digital Transformation concept. In addition, the unit is part of the data driven development transformation program.

In this context we try to accelerate the development of our service offering with new fresh thinking, apply modern architecture design and use sophisticated ways to address problems and challenge established flows with new methodologies.

What you will do

  • Contribute to PHR technology stack and solution configuration development
  • Develop configuration support (constraint - and algorithmic programming), for execution in our existing and future systems.
  • Drive modelling and documentation of complex logic and data needed for the development.
  • Create quality in code that is too important to fail.
  • Introduce evaluate technology choices for future use cases.
  • Be part of a team highly competent colleagues

You will bring

  • University degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent education
  • Curiosity about modern software development projects and knowledge in one or more major programming languages (e.g. Python)
  • Critical thinking ability, researching skills with ability to work independently and in a team
  • Proven track record and willingness to learn quickly, can think creatively, can break down and modularize complex problems and understand algorithms and complexity
  • Desire to engage in a collaborative culture and adopt and drive new ways of working.
  • Fluent in English in conversation and writing

Some skills that could be of great use (but not required)

  • Declarative programming experience (or logic programming)
  • Object modelling and information modelling skills
  • Experience in microservice design and cloud technologies
  • General knowledge on mobile network and systems architecture (ideally BNEW products and networking stack)
  • Constraint programming, ML and AI
  • Grasp of mathematical principles and models
  • Database modelling knowledge
  • Java
  • SQL
