About this opportunity

We are now looking for an Experienced Research Engineer to build and transfer technology competence to ensure technology leadership and profitable business for Ericsson by:

  • Contributing to Ericsson technology strategy
  • Developing novel concepts, solutions, and algorithms
  • Introducing the solutions into product development
  • Presenting prototypes, concept demonstrations and publications.

What you will do

  • Perform, document and communicate research studies, measurements or computer simulations
  • Create new technical solutions and protect them with Intellectual Property Rights (IPR)
  • Represent Ericsson in external fora such as university collaborations, and customer meetings
  • Supervise and coach other researchers
  • Influence Research strategies
  • Develop evaluation tools, demonstrators, or test beds
  • Innovate

You will bring

  • The minimum requirement for the candidate is a Ph.D. in Integrated circuit design in CMOS/BiCMOS/FinFet or a MS with equivalent relevant experience and publications.
  • Deep understanding of RF IC Transceiver architectures, system design and tradeoffs, both in devices and base stations. Experience in system level simulations (Matlab, Simulink, Python, or similar).
  • Hands-on experience in design, layout, and measurements of Analog/RF/mmW circuits such as LNA, Mixer, Filter, VCO, PLL, Pas or other analog circuits is a must.
  • Solid understanding of IC design CAD tools and simulators from actors such as Cadence and Siemens EDA (Mentor): Spectre, Calibre, Momentum as well as modelling using Verilog-A, Verilog-AMS, or similar.
  • Good understanding of Integration aspects, from chip top layout to Package/PCB technology, design and simulations. Experience in HFSS or equivalent tools, Allegro Package Design or Allegro PCB Design or equivalent tools would be ideal.
  • Digital design competence (RTL coding, place and route, digital backend) is a strong plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Motivated to carry out a wide variety of tasks with clear communication and presentation skills in a dynamic team environment.

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to participate and collaborate effectively both in-office and remote working environments (via Microsoft Teams).
  • Ability to work independently
  • Skills in supervising master thesis students and Researchers
  • Ability to build Ericsson Internal and external contact network
  • Ability to transfer knowledge, both within the Research organization and to the Product development units
  • Have a passion to continuously improve the way of working.
